A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you have a shared web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel offers quite a lot of features, but it’s astonishingly simple to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes just one mouse click. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you will only need to click the "Catch-all" button for the concrete email address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and requires one more mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be set up with a few mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated server with our company. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox, you’ll need to click the icon with the same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the exact same manner and will not take more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a certain domain name, you’ll receive a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or deactivate any feature automatically.
